Gallery The Ansel Adams Gallery will host a Grand Opening and Reception, at their new location on Cannery Row in Monterey, CA, to benefit the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Foundation. The Ansel Adams Gallery specializes in landscape photographic art, books, and handcrafts, all designed to evoke an appreciation for and interest in the great world we live in. In addition to Ansel Adams, the Gallery represents a number of contemporary photographers and artists of other media. Many of these artists will be in attendance, along with members of the Ansel Adams family. The evening will initiate special programs to benefit the Sanctuary Foundation and the work that it does to further education and conservation initiatives with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Free parking is available beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the Cannery Row Parking Garage. The Ansel Adams Gallery has been operating in Yosemite National Park since 1902. Founded by landscape painter Harry Best, Ansel Adams" father-in-law, as Best"s Studio, the Gallery has been owned and operated now by four generations of Bests/Adams". In 1994 The Ansel Adams Gallery opened a store in Pebble Beach, which has now been relocated to Cannery Row in Monterey. http://www.anseladams.com The Monterey Bay Sanctuary Foundation is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation to further the awareness, understanding and protection of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Since its inception in 1995, the Foundation has sponsored a variety of education, research and resource conservation projects. http://www.mbnmsf.org The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary was created in 1992 and is one of twelve Marine Sanctuaries nationwide, managed by the National Ocean Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOS/NOAA).
